Registered Master Painters New Zealand

Today Master Painters New Zealand has 14 member associations throughout the country and has been working as a National Professional association since 1913 with the local Canterbury affiliate serving its region for 115 years.

Master Painters is represented on the Associated Industries Group of Business NZ, the Masters Group of Trade Associations, the NZ Specialised Trades, Federation, the New Zealand Paintercraft Trust, Inland Revenue Department, Standards New Zealand, Site Safe and Occupational Safety and Health.

These ties enable us to maintain an open line of communication on behalf of their members and to provide consumers with the highest standards available.

The local Master Painters members are skilled Tradespeople with the expertise and knowledge of all paint systems for your region. It pays to ask when engaging a painter if they are a Registered Master Painter to ensure that you get the result you are entitled too.

Insurance and Security

Our Professional Contractors are required to carry liability insurance and other coverage’s for your protection.
We only accept new members after a thorough assessment of their skills as a painter and integrity as a Contractor, this includes physical inspections and endorsement from a number of referee’s.
We take care of everything and can advise you on the latest paints and the regulations controlling their use.
All members are bound by a detailed code of practise.
All appropriate people from our Canterbury Membership should be able to display their membership card to endorse their credentials. If they don’t have a card you can confirm their status through one of the following options:
